Instructions for creating a database export file from Day-Timer
Open your Day-Timer Database.
Click on the Address Book icon on the left side of the page.
Select File > Export Entries...
Double click on your contacts table to open it.
Select File > Export...
Select ASCII from the left side of the Day-Timer Export window.
Click on the All radio button (or choose a subset of contacts based on contacts that you have pre-selected or that you designate through a search).
Click on the Field Ordering for pull-down menu and select Address.
Check the Include box to ensure all of the desired fields are included in your export file.
Generally, only the Work Address fields are inside the Include box. To use CMS effectively, you also need fields such as email addresses to send an email versions of newsletters to your contacts. To include these fields, select all the fields related to home address in the Omit box. Click the double right arrows (») to include the selected field. Omit fields from the Include box that are not used in the CMS marketing database, such as Type, Date, Alarm Time, Advance Notice, Text, Assignee and Category. To remove these from the Include box, select them in the Include box. Click on the double left arrows («) to omit the selected field.
Click the Browse button to specify where the file is saved.
Saving the file: Choose Desktop for the file location so it is easy to find for the CMS import. Type a filename that combines your first and last name. Example: if your name is Joan Smith, your filename should be joansmith.
From the Save as type pull-down, select ASCII Files. Click Save.
Click OK.
to the CMS Import Data page and browse for the file that you just created.
